Meet Tim Triolo

Timothy (Tim) Triolo grew up in the northern Wisconsin city of Appleton. The son of two teachers, Tim learned the value of building solid relationships from an early age. Tim’s mother, Carlarae, took on the dual responsibility of raising five boys while balancing the teaching career she loved. But a couple years before Tim entered high school, his father, Frank, left teaching, becoming a successful financial planner in the Fox River Valley area. Frank established his financial planning practice, predicated upon helping many of the teachers with whom he formerly worked.

When Tim graduated from Appleton Xavier High School, he ventured to Milwaukee, WI to attend Marquette University. It was then Tim was confronted with the same challenge faced by many young people entering college today: how to subsidize scholarships and financial aid to cover tuition. Being entrepreneurial in spirit, Tim opened several start up retail venues in Milwaukee’s then-thriving downtown mall, while concurrently pursuing his studies.  In later years Tim would tackle management positions with both national retailers and non-profit organizations, where he learned to exercise diplomacy with local collective bargaining units to accomplish mutual goals. Tim graduated from Marquette with his BA.

Tim began the next chapter embarking on a career path that would prove life changing: that of a financial advisor.  Tim joined a high profile firm in the financial service industry, where he drafted several hundred financial plans and helped guide clients through the planning process.  Tim’s genuine conviction to “put the clients’ needs first” inspired him to escape the confines of proprietary investment and insurance products and open Portfolio Financial Services. As an independent advisor, Portfolio Financial leverages flexibility and choice in selecting investments and services that align with clients' needs.

Family and friends are important to Tim, and he considers his life  much more colorful with them in it. Social activities like festivals, baseball games and dinners with friends are at the top of his list of things to do in his spare time.

Tim is also excited to be working on a project that he is passionate about: Portfolio Financial Supports Education, a grass-roots effort to encourage private sector businesses to invest in our youth.
